The Molino Rojo Hostel has special arrangements with the best bars and clubs in San Jose
Vertigo - 250m from the hostel
The most important disco in Costa Rica, and in all of Central America. It's not just by chance that famous DJs such as Tiesto and Infected Mushrooms choose to play there. The club has five different levels with a maximum capacity of 3,000 people between the dance floors and special VIP lounges. It is open Friday and Saturday nights until 6am.
The Molino Rojo Hostel has a special agreement so that if you stay with us, you can enter directly into the VIP section without paying extra. In the case of a special event at Vertigo, the club is never full for us.
  
 
Rapsodia Lounge - 300m from the hostel
Must be one of the most exclusive lounges in San Jose, which offers an extensive menu of international food and cocktails, accompanied by excellent ambience music: chill out, Bossa Nova and Latin music.
Eventually they will organise live shows in the garden of the lounge.
It's the perfect place to start or finish a chilled out holiday in Costa Rica.
  
Jazz Cafe, Escazu - 4km from the hostel
We are 10 minutes in taxi from one of only two jazz clubs in San Jose in an exclusive suburb (where all the rich Americans and Europeans live).
This is the place to listen to famous as well as up-and-coming groups from Central America in a stylish atmosphere with excellent customer service.
Shows every day at 10pm until midnight. As there are so few places like this in San Jose, it is usually full every night, however if you come from the Molino Rojo Hostel, they can always squeeze an extra person in.
   
How to get to the above venues
If you don't feel safe walking at night in a city that you don't know, we can organise for one of our managers to accompany you where you would like to go (obviously without charging extra). Moreover, there is always someone else in the Molino Rojo Hostel who wants to go out in the evening so you will be in good company.
If you are a large group of people (maybe volunteers, students or whatever), we can easily organise extra security measures so that the group is always together and always feels safe as we have contacts with the most important body guard companies in San Jose (the same guys who look after the politicians and ambassadors by day).
